Let the Trumpets Sound!

If you fancy getting into the spirit of Christmas without giving up entirely on the rest of the year, do come to hear the Exeter Railway Band play at St Michael’s Church in Teignmouth on Sunday 26th November at 3pm!

The programme is very varied a popular repertoire for all seasons which accepts that the sun is low in the sky, the days are increasingly crisp and frosty, the nights are drawing in and the sound of carols is beginning to fill the air...

Under the direction of Graham Eaton this very fine brass band will lift your spirits and brighten your day as the trumpets sound out clear, bright and joyful.

The programme is suitable for all the family so do bring your children and grandchildren. They will be able to talk to members of the band and have a closer look at all the different instruments: cornets, horns, trombones, euphoniums and tubas, not forgetting the percussion section: drums, cymbals, glockenspiel, timpani etc.

The concert is brought to you by the Teignmouth Classical Music Festival, organised by South Devon Singers. Most of the events of the Festival are concentrated over the first weekends of March but this is a little taste of what is to come.

The main aims of the Festival are to be all-inclusive, to encourage the participation of people of all ages and backgrounds, to involve both professional and amateur musicians, to commission new music, to draw primarily on local talent and to enable audiences to enjoy all that is on offer at very affordable prices.

Tea, coffee, juice and a delicious array of cakes will be available at the interval so buy your tickets now and look forward to a real treat a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

Tickets are £8 (concessions £5). Family tickets are exceptional value at £10 for one adult and up to 3 children or £18 for two adults and up to 3 children. They are available online from ticketsource.co.uk/southdevonsingers or from Sheila Townsend, Festival Administrator, on (01626) 870 107 or southdevonsingers@gamil.com or simply on the door.
